A leading North Sea operator engaged James Fisher to support the severance and proof pulling of several platform and subsea multi-string wells during 2025.
Customer challenge
The customer required reliable, highly-experienced support to decommission 13 wells across three platform-based campaigns and two subsea wells.
With each well presenting challenges due to age and condition, a comprehensive tooling spread operated by a technical team with experience of these well types was required to overcome both environmental and technical challenges.
Solution for our customer
James Fisher's decommissioning specialists designed, built and tested in-house a bespoke proving string for this project. This provided certainty on cut completion prior to mobilising section recovery tooling spread and personnel.
Multi-string cuts performed on 9-5/8in, 13-3/8in, 20in and 30in arrangements were successfully carried out, achieving an optimal result due to effective methodology and efficient execution.
