Challenge

South America is a key growth region for James Fisher, with evolving demand for technically complex, high-risk maritime operations. Customers required a stronger regional hub with faster mobilisation, increased local support and enhanced resilience across critical energy trade routes.

Solution

James Fisher opened a dedicated operational base in La Paloma and inaugurated it with an offshore STS transfer between two tankers. Specialist fenders, hoses and STS equipment were deployed, supported by an experienced transfer team aboard WP Halle and delivered in partnership with MEINA Offshore Services.

Achieving the first ship-to-ship operation in Uruguay showcases our ability to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable operations that connect global supply chains, and our strategic commitment to our customers in the region.
