JFD combined its hyperbaric testing expertise with James Fisher Energy’s R2S technology to support qualification of Verlume’sOrah subsea enclosure in Aberdeen, UK.
Challenge
Ahead of offshore deployment, Verlume needed to verify Orah’s performance under representative subsea conditions. The 10-tonne enclosure also required careful assessment of available space at JFD’s National Hyperbaric Centre (NHC).
Solution
JFD used James Fisher Energy’s R2S digital twin technology to create a trusted 360-degree view of the hyperbaric chamber, supporting spatial planning and enabling Verlumeto maximise Orah’s capacity. At its NHC, JFD conducted controlled pressure testing to verify the enclosure’s integrity and performance.
Key features
Customer impact
- Verified performance, integrity and depth capability of largest vessel ever tested at JFD’s NHC
- Used R2S digital twin technology to support spatial planning and capacity maximisation during Orah’s design phase
- Further de-risked Orah ahead of planned offshore deployment
- Demonstrated James Fisher’s combined digital and engineering capabilities to support complex subsea technology qualification
