Engineered rescue equipment and intervention systems designed for rapid mobilisation and reliable operation
Mobilise quickly, integrate safely and perform reliably
Submarine rescue equipment must be ready to mobilise quickly, integrate safely with the host vessel, and perform reliably in demanding conditions.
JFD designs and manufactures rescue and intervention systems to help operators build an integrated capability that supports rescue, intervention and sustained response.
Solutions range from rescue bells for regional MOSHIP operations and global flyaway deployment, to intervention systems that support early life support delivery and access to a distressed submarine.
Equipment can be configured as part of a dedicated mother ship solution or packaged for rapid transport and installation.
Why JFD for rescue and intervention systems?
Our engineering approach focuses on the ability to deploy and safety and assured performance. Systems are designed to support operational readiness, with options to tailor equipment for platform interfaces and rescue doctrine.

Pressurised rescue capability with Lloyd’s Register aligned designs on selected systems

Extended depth and capacity options to reduce the number of rescue sorties in large scale scenarios

Intervention systems that prioritise reduced time to first intervention and practical vessel installation

Portable packaging concepts that support road and air transport and rapid mobilisation to a vessel of opportunity

Specialist tooling and containerisation options to support safe handling of life support stores and intervention tasks

Rescue equipment and rescue vehicle systems
Choose an equipment set that matches your operating model. Options include rescue bells for MOSHIP integration and flyaway deployment, as well as SRV systems that provide high-capacity rescue performance when complemented by a trained and exercised response capability.
- Integrated rapid response bell for MOSHIP deployment, supporting low local time to first rescue and flexible deck integration
- Integrated rapid response bell XL rated for 11 rescues at 500 m with an option to 610 m, designed to reduce sorties and support pressurised rescue
- Flyaway rapid response bell designed to be transported by the widest range of commercial aircraft
- Flyaway rapid response bell XL increases operating depth to 500 m with an option to 610 m and increases rescue capacity to 11 personnel
- Flyaway SRV system provides maximum capability for global deployment with rescue capacity of 16 and depth of 400 m with an option to 610 m
- Rapid deployment SRV system optimised to mobilise to a MOSHIP by integrating decompression chambers and launch and recovery, reducing deck space and enabling deployment to a wider range of vessels

Intervention systems
Reducing the Time to First Intervention is critical in a submarine incident. JFD’s intervention systems are designed to augment life support on board a distressed submarine during the early stages of a rescue, with options that can be permanently installed on a dedicated vessel or configured as highly portable flyaway systems.
- Emergency life support stores pods (ELSS Pods) : Delivers essential supplies to a distressed submarine to extend life support until rescue. Marine grade aluminium, designed to ANEP MNEP 85 and certified by Lloyd’s Register.
- ELSS pod posting bags : Supports safe posting and recovery of ELSS pods at the escape tower, with controlled lowering into the submarine. Designed to ANEP MNEP 85, load tested for a flooded pod, with dual redundant load path and tower specific mounting options.
