The large offshore wind farm currently under construction at Gwynt y Môr required a confined space rescue support team to aid the installation of strain gauges to the transition piece in case of emergency situations.

Osiris (now part of James Fisher Subsea) supported the installation of a structural health monitoring system on three offshore wind turbines. During operations Osiris was required to provide and set up emergency recovery equipment and develop methods to be put in place for multiple evacuation scenarios.

Osiris provided three qualified confined space rescue personnel along with equipment, which included full breathing apparatus sets, tri-pods, recovery winches, inertia reels, equipment hoists, gas detectors, 10 minute escape sets and forced ventilation.

Services provided:

  • Confined space entry
  • Confined space rescue
