Foundation apprenticeships
Bringing education closer to industry, foundation apprenticeships give school pupils a taste of the world of work and help employers shape future talent.
Apprenticeships at James Fisher offer high quality, work-based learning, meaning you can learn on the job while working on real projects with experienced colleagues.
Apprenticeships are available to anyone aged 16 and over who is not in full-time education and is eligible to work in the UK.
At James Fisher, apprenticeships can be offered to new or existing employees. We believe that this approach to learning gives employees the confidence and qualifications they need to succeed and for the business to build talent, productivity and the motivation to grow.
As an apprentice, you will be provided with a line manager as well as a mentor, who may or may not be the same person.
This is intended to ensure all apprentices get the most out of this experience as possible and feel supported when raising any concerns or queries.
Apprentices also have a training provider to develop appropriate frameworks and assign work tasks as required.
There are three apprenticeship routes available for the business to engage in, as follows:
Bringing education closer to industry, foundation apprenticeships give school pupils a taste of the world of work and help employers shape future talent.
A modern apprentice is just like any other employee. Except, they’re getting structured, on-the-job training and a qualification designed for our industry. The modern apprenticeship programmes are available to both new and existing employees.
Taking work-based learning higher, graduate level apprentices can study up to master’s degree level. Learning is blended to allow the employee to spend 80% of their time in work and 20% at university.
