Safety and control systems
With over 25 years of experience, James Fisher excels in the design and assessment of critical safety systems and high demand and integrity control systems.
We specifically focus on safety-related elements, systems, mechanisms, structures and components whether for safety related, safety-critical or mission-critical systems. These all have the underpinning objective of ensuring safe operations and minimum impact on the environment and personnel.
We have over 20 graduate engineers with experience of working to IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and SQEP to work to BNF.EG.00090_1.
The delivery of safety-related projects is backed up by a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) which supports continuous quality assurance monitoring throughout. In order to deliver the configuration auditing parts of ISO 10007:2003, we utilise formal configuration management tools for deliverables which allows us to maintain coherent and traceable supporting evidence for safety system designs.
We are experienced in carrying out reviews of existing safety cases and substantiating them in line with the current engineering and regulatory best practice.
We deliver a structured approach to developing safety systems to ensure that they are designed from the outset with the appropriate safety integrity built in.
Our safety case authors have extensive experience in developing safety cases for the nuclear sector. Safety cases can be generated for presentation in either a textual or graphical format.
We design and supply control systems for applications demanding high integrity safety, security and reliability.
We can offer suitable qualified and experienced resource in designing programmable electrical systems and software to IEC 61508, IEC 61511 and BNF.EG00090_1 and delivering these systems under Validation and Verification (V&V) control with a complete package of full lifecycle safety documentation.
