Osiris - strength in depth
The acquisition of Osiris Marine Services by James Fisher has brought additional subsea engineering, diving and ROV capabilities, as well as lending further expertise and value to the group’s activities in the offshore renewables sector.
Founded by managing director Aiden West in 1996, Osiris (now part of James Fisher Marine Services) has built its success as a provider of multi-skilled and cross-trained personnel. These include in-house commercial divers, ROV pilots, structural engineers and technicians, able to deliver total engineering solutions in challenging environments. Aiden has been instrumental to the success of Osiris from a small Yorkshire-based diving company to the dynamic subsea engineering service business valued by its customers today.
“We are excited to have become part of the James Fisher group. By combining our shared quality and commitment, and harnessing the expertise and assets from across the group, I believe that not only can we expand our combined service provision but together we can enjoy sustainable progression and growth. Joining the Fisher group will enable Osiris to grow and expand our service provision to our clients both on and offshore.”
Explains Aiden.
Dedicated and committed to the health and safety of its personnel and operations, Osiris has fostered an exceptional reputation amongst the offshore renewables market. Commenting on a recent Osiris project, Paul Deslandes, senior projects manager for customer Global Marine Systems said:
“The standard of health and safety exhibited by Osiris during the inspection on this project is well above the standards normally found in this sector of the industry. The experience and level of raining of their offshore and diving personnel was to an unusually high standard.”
With experience and capabilities spanning offshore and onshore services including commercial diving, cable laying and repair, and structural inspections, the addition of Osiris complements James Fisher’s existing capabilities.
Charlie Bayston, operations manager at Osiris, added:
“It is an exciting time for Osiris, and by joining James Fisher, we are all looking forward to the increased opportunities and possibilities that will be brought through access to the groups resources and the ability to undertake larger projects.”
