Life of luxury for QE2 in Dubai

Fendercare Marine chosen to be the main supplier for the mooring lines which will hold the QE2 in place throughout its new life as a luxury hotel in Dubai.

Chosen by the retired ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) team Fendercare Marine is proud to be the main supplier for the mooring lines which will hold the great historic vessel in place throughout its new life as a luxury hotel stationed in Dubai.

QE2 has a fascinating history spanning almost 50 years and its legacy will now continue in the UAE as a 13 deck hotel, dining, entertainment and events destination – docked permanently at Dubai’s Mina Rashid and held firmly in place by Fendercare’s mooring lines. QE2 will start its new life as a luxury hotel in October 2018 boasting 224 rooms and suites, five restaurants, a shopping arcade and spa plus a theatre and cinema.

The huge vessel will be held in place by 18 lines made from Oceanmoor high-tenacity polypropylene rope which can withstand a combined breaking load of 1,216 tons.
