Inchinnan stands up under pressure

JFD and Divex work on complex saturation diving system.

Last year, JFD and Divex came together to work on their biggest and most complex saturation diving system (SDS) project at their new Inchinnan plant near Glasgow, and construction has now begun.

One major SDS component, a 15m long transfer under pressure (TUP) unit, commissioned and designed for an engineering firm is now in progress.

"With design and procurement complete, the joint team is now working hard to complete the saturation diving system ready for delivery in the early summer. The short time frame has been a challenge but the guys have done extremely well to pull everything together to make sure the TUP unit gets to the customer on time," explains Bill Hives – programme director at Divex.

This is a multi-million pound project for the combined might of Divex and JFD, which enables the two companies to pool their resources and in-depth experience to deliver a cost-effective and world-class saturation diving system.
