The graduation game

The search is on to find great young talent for the future.

The incredible success of James Fisher Nuclear's (JFN’s) Hatti Sonley at last month’s Apprentice of the Year awards – where she was crowned Supply Chain Nuclear Apprentice of the Year is a brilliant showcase for James Fisher’s investment in its young employees across the group.

Danielle le Breton, head of human resources at James Fisher says:

"The growth of the company comes from a strong grounding of young talent – these are the people who will help to guide our business forward."

This year, renewed emphasis is being placed on a formalised ‘graduate programme’ to boost intake and ensure those lucky enough to be recruited into James Fisher companies get the best support and career progression possible.

"Our graduate intake has risen from 10 in 2010 to 34 last year, but we are keen to step this up and develop the skill sets of our graduates by linking up with professional institutes, such as the institute of mechanical engineers, to ensure their progression into professional engineers," continues Danielle.

Graduates will also receive scheduled training (both in core skills for their field of discipline as well as interpersonal skills) and networking opportunities.
