OWMS: whatever the weather

Strainstall's innovative cloud-based state-of-the-art marine management system, Offshore Wind Management System (OWMS) formed an integral part of the Galloper contract win.

As part of the contract, the James Fisher team will utilise OWMS to provide marine management services and help Galloper man a dedicated marine control room on site, which will support project planning and assist operations throughout the construction period.

Peter Leach, OWMS project manager confirms;

'OWMS is going to be heavily used in the Galloper project. OWMS is a pioneering, in-house developed system designed specifically for marine operations that manages all assets related to offshore wind farm operations. A key feature is its ability to incorporate a highly sophisticated weather module that enables the Galloper teams to accurately predict the weather and plan accordingly, helping to reduce risks and costs.'

Another part of the OWMS offering to Galloper, is an integrated radio frequency ID (RFID) tagging facility which constantly tracks offshore personnel to ensure everyone is safe and inventories tools to protect against theft or damage and ensures everything runs smoothly.
