Unleashing the new ROV fleet
One of the newly acquired work class ROVs has already been mobilised with an exciting new contract from DOF Subsea.
No sooner had the formation of James Fisher Subsea been announced than Norwegian-owned company, DOF Subsea Aberdeen asked the team to supply a mobile Triton XLX work class ROV unit to assist with a subsea trial project.
'DOF Subsea was asked by Sub C Partner to supply a Triton XLX WROV to assist with a subsea tooling trial project in Esbjerg, Denmark,'
explains Chris Bryant who now runs the JFS ROV fleet.
The team was asked to assist DOF Subsea in quayside trials which involved interfacing an innovative tooling package to the ROV for a specific subsea task, so that the mechanism can be replicated on DOF Subsea ROVs.
'Although this was not a huge project, the new liaison shows the flexible approach JFS is now able to take as a service supplier to other ROV companies such as DOF Subsea which works closely with major oil companies,'
he adds.
