Mojo Maritime’s ‘Bees Brothers’ rally for the bees

A James Fisher employee is taking part in the Plymouth-Dakar Challenge over the Christmas period, driving 4000 miles to West Africa and across the Sahara Desert in an old car to raise money for charity.

Jovian Stone, marine engineer with Mojo Maritime (now JFMS) is embarking on the challenge with his friend, Aidan Shaw in Jovian’s specially adapted 20-year old VW Polo.

They have named their team ‘The Bees Brothers’ and aim to raise funds and awareness for a Cornwall-based bee conservation charity:

‘We are concerned about the decline of our native bee species due to pesticides and disease, and we wanted to do something a bit different to help their plight. The money raised as part of our adventure will go directly to Blacks Cornish Bees, which is working to increase Cornish bee populations as well as educate the community.’

Jovian says.
