Surprise royal visitor for Fendercare
The Fendercare team welcome surprise royal visitor at the biennial International Harbour Masters Association congress in London
The Fendercare team manning a stand at the biennial International Harbour Masters Association congress in London in June were delighted when Princess Anne chose theirs as one of the companies she chose to visit during her tour of the exhibition.
The Princess Royal was there in support of the maritime charity, Trinity House which is dedicated to the safeguarding and welfare of the shipping community.
According to Fendercare product division director Lara Griffin, she approached the stand to discuss Fendercare’s work in improving safety in international ports and harbours.
‘We discussed our recent work with the General Lighthouse Authority in supplying mooring equipment for the UK’s navigational aid network as well as our new port defence barrier systems. She was also aware of our relationship with Yokohama and I had the opportunity to explain how our hydro-pneumatic fenders operate.
The Princess was very knowledgeable of the sector and even of Fendercare’s work beyond fender supply. It was an honour to meet her.’
