Extending the Exxon connection in Nigeria
Long-term support contract with key Exxon subsidiary creates potential for more work in the area.Â
Subtech Offshore Services Nigeria is proud to be providing a complete marine services support package to Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU, a subsidiary of Exxon) as part of an on-going long-term contract with the multinational oil major.
Subtech is working as a specialist technical partner with Broron Oil and Gas – a local Nigerian oil and gas servicing company, to deliver a complete marine engineering, technical and management services package to MPNU as part of a multifunctional field maintenance services contract.
Shawn De Boer, Subtech’s regional and business development manager for West Africa says:
‘We’re really proud to support Broron with this work for MPNU and although we’re only a small part of a massive project, we’re working on vital operations that are critical to its overall success.’
Subtech’s offshore teams will operate from the Bourbon Evolution 808, a DP3 – Offshore Supply Vessel, dedicated to subsea operations for the oil and gas industry. The vessel will serve as an offshore operations base for MPNU’s maintenance and construction activities including the installation of flowline and process piping, the repair and replacement of piping and process equipment, structural repair and replacements, modification work as well as dive and survey projects, at the various MPNU sites off the coast of Nigeria.
Paul Whiley, CEO of the Subtech Group adds:
‘This contract builds on our long standing relationship with Exxon and is a real accomplishment for the small but experienced team here at Subtech.
By delivering a complete support package we have a great opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities and broaden our involvement with MPNU. Of course, we will work hard to exceed expectation and we hope it will give us opportunity to expand our permanent presence on the MPNU field.’
