JFO in full service tie-up with Technip

JFO selected by Technip to provide vital inspection, repair and maintenance work on offshore installations.

When giant engineering and construction company Technip was contracted to provide vital inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) work on its client's offshore installations this summer, it selected James Fisher Offshore (JFO).

The JFO team was able to supply the full back deck equipment requirements for Technip's 100 day IRM campaign (including jacket, clamp and weld inspections of offshore installations) by utilising its extensive portfolio of rental equipment and services.

The inspections of 12 offshore installations in the UK Continental Shelf region of waters in the North Sea were conducted continuously over 24 hours to meet tight time schedules.

Because Technip could rely on JFO to be its key subcontractor with a full understanding of the project, there were dramatically reduced costs in terms of personnel, logistics and maintenance. Additionally, substantial commercial and operational efficiencies were made possible by JFO supplying such a wide range of equipment and acting as a single point of contact for Technip across all aspects - including planning, mobilisation, operation and maintenance.

"JFO has supported Technip for many years, and is now able to streamline the project delivery process by working closely with Technip's team to deliver a fully packaged back deck solution to suit any specific offshore project."

Explains Graeme Brand, sales manager at JFO.
