Fundraising at new heights

Claire from Return To Scene takes fundraising to new heights for CLAN - a cancer support charity.

As part of Claire Fleming's amazing challenge to raise money and awareness for CLAN, she and a couple of friends took to the sky and jumped from 10,000ft on the 8 October 2016.

On the 16 March 2016 Claire Fleming, who works at Return To Scene, began fundraising for CLAN in memory of her brother who regrettably lost his life to cancer at the age of just 14. Her aim is to raise £20,000 over the course of a year, which would be a highly touching way to commemorate 20 years since the loss of Christopher Davidson.

Despite being kept busy with work and having a typically hectic family life, Claire has managed to arrange a plethora of events ranging from quiz nights to afternoon teas. In addition to this, she and a couple of friends decided to organise a skydive in Fife, all in aid of raising money for CLAN which will help to support teenagers suffering from cancer. So on the 8 October Claire and her two friends, Sonja (who also works at Return To Scene) and Sara, gathered to take to the sky. It was a beautiful autumnal day, and according to the ladies there was a real air of excitement despite all being a touch nervous. After completing the sky dive, Claire said

"I'm so proud of the ladies and very overwhelmed."

The dive raised an incredible £2,000, which is a great step towards the £20,000 target. However, the fundraising doesn't stop there; a ladies afternoon of fun has already been arranged in November.

We wish Claire and her family the best over the next few months as they continue to raise money for CLAN, and hope that she is successful in reaching the target. If you would like to make a donation on their JustGiving page it would be going to a brilliant cause. The fundraising page can be found at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/christophersCLANChallenge
